Private, same-day STD testing
Testicular pain can be related to a number of conditions, including complications of STDs. The pain may be related to the testicle itself, or the pain may originate in other areas and radiate to the testicles.
Several different conditions, some more serious than others, can cause this symptom:
If there is a chance you have been exposed to an STD, testing is strongly advised. STD testing for men can be performed through a urine sample, so the process is quick and painless.
If STD tests are negative, a doctor can help diagnose the cause. For severe testicular pain, contact a doctor immediately.
Treatment will depend on the diagnosis. When pain is caused by minor trauma or injury to the testicles, the pain should subside within a few days. If caused by gonorrhea or chlamydia, a doctor will prescribe antibiotics to eliminate the infection. Consult a doctor about treatment for other causes.
