Type 1 IgG (HerpeSelect™) Test

This test is recommended by the Center for Disease Control (CDC). The HerpeSelect™ blood test looks for antibodies that are specific to the Herpes Simplex 1 Virus (HSV-1).

What kind of sample is required?

HerpeSelect™ Tests require a blood sample to be drawn by a medical professional at one of our official testing centers.

How to prepare for your test?

No advance preparation is needed before your test. Just be prepared to have your blood drawn.

When can I expect results from this test?

HerpeSelect™ herpes blood test results are usually available in 2-3 business days. Some of our patients have received Herpes test results as soon as 24 hours. After you purchase your test from us, you can choose to receive a phone call or email with your results. When your results come back, you will also receive detailed instructions on how to read your herpes test results.

Herpes Treatment Options

If your results are positive, you can rest assured knowing our physician is available by telephone to prescribe the appropriate medication and any additional treatement or consultation. Around 70% of American adults have oral herpes. Treatment options are well-known and can be reviewed with our in-house doctor or your own physician.

What is included in the cost?

With your purchase you will recieve an order form that you will take into one of our testing facilities. We also include a free post-results phone consultation with our physician, who can prescribe the appropriate treatment and medication for Herpes Simplex 1. You never have to pay to call us or our in-house physician to prescribe treatment of positive results. However, you may have to pay for the cost of medication.

In order to acheive maximum accuracy, your HerpeSelect™ test requires blood to be drawn professionally at one of our official testing centers. We do not currently carry at-home versions of this particular test.
