Hepatits C Test
Hepatitis C Antibody Test Reflex to HCV RIBA
This blood test looks for antibodies to the Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) as an indicator of acute Hepatitis C.
What kind of sample is required?
This Hepatitis C Test requires a blood sample to be drawn by a phlebotomist at one of our official STD testing clinics.
How to prepare for your test?
No advance preparation is needed before your test. Just be prepared to have your blood drawn.
When can I expect results from this test?
Within 2-3 business days. Some customers have received results as quickly as 24 hours after submitting their samples. After you purchase your test from us,you can choose to receive a phone call or email with your results.
NOTE: If you get tested before there are enough antibodies to detect, you may get a "false negative" result but still have acute type C viral hepatitis. Also, you may have a positive result if you were exposed and treated for this virus in the past (this test cannot determine if you still have an active viral infection). The CDC suggests that "weakly positive" tests be confirmed with another test within 3 months.
Treatment Options
If your results are positive, rest assured knowing our in-house physician is available by telephone to prescribe the appropriate medication and any additional treatement or consultation.
Is there an At-Home Hepatitis C Test Option
In order to acheive maximum accuracy, your Hepatitis test requires blood to be drawn professionally at one of our official testing centers. We do not currently carry at-home versions of this test.
