Default Getting my partner to test

Well, it wasn't easy. He resisted at first, kind of got annoyed with me for asking and seemed to think I was trying to say he had something. When he wouldn't test, I got paranoid that maybe he DID have something he was hiding.

After a little bit of a blow-up we kind of talked and I told him that it really wasn't about him, that I just wanted us to be as safe as possible and I'd feel that way with anyone. I told him that STDs don't always have a drip or itch or anything, and that seemed to make a difference to him.

So the point is this...if you're asking a partner to get tested, make sure they know it's not because you're worried about them in particular and that anyone can have an STD and not know. I said to my boyfriend this is as much about protecting you from me as it is the other way around!
