If you've been diagnosed with an STD, it's important to inform any past partners that may have been exposed. That's a valid concern. inSpot specifically formats their emails and tests their service constantly to ensure that these important emails don't end up in the spam folder. Futhermore, inSpot is run by the CDC (Center for Disease Control) which is a legitimate government run agency so that lends credibility to a random e-card.

My first impression is that people should look someone in the eye and tell them in person, but realistically, a number of folks simply won't do that. If a service like this (some health departments offer partner notification services, too) gets more people into testing who really need it, then I'm for it.
