World AIDS Day
World AIDS Day is Wednesday, and each year it occurs on December 1st. This is an excellent time to remind everyone of the value of HIV testing: it can take 10 or more years before symptoms related to the infection develop, and early detection allows treatment to be much more effective.

This is great and I fully support it, but how do we keep this awareness going beyond just one special day? HIV is a threat year round! It took me a looong time to get tested for no reason than just simply being scared.
