We talk a lot about HIV testing, which is a good thing and something everybody should do at least once (or more, depending on your risk factors). You can do so through this site at Get STD Tested - STD Tests & STD Testing Procedures Explained.
But what about when someone tests positive? Here is a site with some good tips to cope with a new HIV diagnosis: Learning you are HIV positive. Just something to think about. I'd like to see other resources that people can offer. |

Finding out that one is HIV-positive is a shocking, scary experience. I think it's important to get across that there is hope, as today's combination treatments are very effective. Someone with HIV who takes care of themselves and sticks to the right treatment regimen can reasonably live for a number of decades.
There's no one size fits all approach, so have your health care provider determine the right combination of medications and STICK TO IT! Take care of yourself, mind, body, and spirit. Eat well, get enough rest, and continue to live! Thanks for posting this. |
