Default "Living Well with HIV" op/ed

http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/...,4033433.story

Check out this editorial by John-Manuel Andriote that ran in the Los Angeles Times. This gives encouragement to anyone living with HIV, whether they have developed AIDS or not. To wit:

Quote:
Nearly four years later, antiretroviral therapy and good healthcare have strengthened my immune system. My viral load is undetectable. If I didn't know that I have HIV, I wouldn't know because I have never been sick.
This speaks to the fact that, unlike the early days of the epidemic, a person living with an HIV/AIDS diagnosis can receive treatment and "live well" for many, many years.

Wow, someone with an actual AIDS diagnosis who's healthy and at a point where the virus is contained so well it can't be detected. I mean, he's not cured but he's living his life and seems to be thriving.

This is the kind of news people like me need to hear. Yes, people like me, that is, someone living with HIV! There, I said it!

Thanks Vicky, you're a love.
