Default Treatment for Partners

I understand this wouldn't work with everything, but with STDs that can be cured pretty easily, why don't they just send medicine home with your partner? I mean, say someone has chlamydia, if you test positive they just give you an antibiotic and that takes care of it. So if your boyfriend or girlfriend has it, why not just send them home with a bottle for you, too?

Do they ever do this? Seems like it would make sense.

They do that sometimes, with stuff like chlamydia and, I think, maybe gonorrhea. It's not done everywhere, my clinic wouldn't do it because they wanted to check out my old man, said he might need other tests and all that. A friend of mind DID get meds for her guy, though, so I guess it depends who you're dealing with.

I'd say if you're treated, ask them if it's possible you can get the pills for your partner. All they can do is say no!
