Default Transgender Patients: What to ask your medical provider

Transgender persons have unique health care issues. The Gay and Lesbian Medical Association site
at http://www.glma.org/index.cfm?fuseac...D=533&nodeID=1 has great tips on how gay, lesbian, and especially transgender patients should talk to their nurses and doctors, and the important issues to cover.

One that's good to discuss involves anyone who's "transitioning" (commonly called sex change). The hormones taken can raise a host of medical concerns, so be informed. Be empowered to take charge of your health!

This is so great and an extremely helpful resource! Thank you so much for your contribution. I'll also work on posting more resources, information, and support for our transgender users. And please feel free to let me know if there's anything else you'd like to see up here or any ways you think we could continue to improve the site. We're always looking to keep growing and be the best possible resource for our users....your feedback is always welcome and much appreciated!
