This is a good topic to talk about for many reasons. Sometimes Gay and lesbian patients are afraid to come out about their sexuality to their health care providers, and this can lead to them not having all the right tests, health advice, etc. needed for their specific circumstances. Medical care is definitely not one size fits all, it needs to be tailored, and having a gay friendly health care provider is a real boon to gay and lesbian health.

Victoria, I especially like your comment that sometimes it's hard to gay and lesbian folks to talk with their doctors and nurses. Never really thought about that but I can see where someone might fear being judged or treated unkindly.
