Hi,
Good question. I know the lab results can be a little confusing and tricky to interpret, particularly for the HSV-1 and HSV-2 results which show an index range for positive or negative.
For both HSV-1 and HSV-1, if the number indicated for your results is anything BELOW 0.90 ("in range") then you are completely Negative. If your number is anything ABOVE 1.10 ("out of range") then that is a Positive result. If you resulted with a number that is between 0.90-1.10, then you tested "Equivocal" and it is reccommended that you retest after 2 or 3 weeks for an accurate result.
I hope this helps. If you have any questions regarding your results or how to interpret your results page, please feel free to call us at 866-749-6269 and a representative would be happy to walk through all the details with you.
